Our second resolution for 2023 is to Support and Promote Fair Trade. A big piece of that is using our business to support other fair trade businesses. We often tell our customers that how they spend their dollars matters. That every purchase is a vote for the kind of world we want to live in. If that’s true, then we have to use our purchases the same way! And so we do everything we can to support fair trade or sustainable or local companies throughout our supply chain.
As of this year, all of our hang tags and garment labels are sourced from a fair trade company – Starfish Project! Like GOEX, Starfish Project is a Social Enterprise and a member of the Fair Trade Federation. Through their business, Starfish Project cares for women escaping human trafficking and exploitation in Asia. Those women & girls receive wholistic care and gain freedom through the power of work and community. We are so incredibly grateful for the work of the Starfish team and are thrilled to be able to support them with the power of our purchases.
